Fixed Assets Module
Spokane Software Systems has been providing quality data processing and consulting to the
agricultural industry throughout the U.S. since 1975. We offer proven accounting, sales
automation and management information systems currently in use in over 90 installations nationwide.
The fixed asset system is a "stand alone" system which provides schedules of fixed
assets and depreciation using conventional depreciation methods as well as ACRS.
This system is not interactive with our general ledger system, however the various depreciation
expense reports provided by the system allow you to easily prepare monthly or annual journal
entries to the General Ledger.
The system contains one program which performs the depreciation calculations, while all the
other menu options are reports and the Asset master record entry program.
The calculation program has been designed to allow you to produce depreciation figures for
your assets at any point in time -- during the life of your asset base. This means you can
produce figures which show the status of depreciation at any point in the past, present or future.
Calculations for the present would give you the figures needed to book monthly or yearly depreciation expense entries.
Calculations for the future would allow you to do depreciation projections for capital budgeting or tax planning purposes.
The system allows you to segregate your assets by department and asset type.
Various reports include depreciation schedules, list of asset additions, list of retired assets,
lists which show cost basis, accumulated depreciation and book value. Reports can be sorted by
department, asset type, acquisition year, and/or depreciation method. Also included with the
Fixed Assets subsystem is a section of financial calculation tools which may be useful for
various analytical tasks. These include:
- Annuity schedule program
- Depreciation schedule program (one method, stand alone)
- Depreciation schedule program (three methods, stand alone)
- Business ratios print worksheet
- Allocation model program (used to allocate a dollar amount over a series of units of production)
- Amortization program
